AI-Driven Water Treatment Solutions at WEFTEC 2025

MILWAUKEE, Wis., September 16, 2025 (Rockwell Automation release) — Rockwell Automation, Inc., the world’s leading company focused on industrial automation and digital transformation, will showcase its newest innovations for the water sector at WEFTEC 2025, the premier global water quality event. The conference runs Sept. 27–Oct. 1 in Chicago, where visitors can find Rockwell at booth #1867 in the Circular Water Economy Pavilion to explore how advanced control and digital solutions are reshaping utility and treatment plant operations.

Live demonstrations will highlight how artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and a unified control platform can help utilities lower costs, boost efficiency, and improve overall performance. Attendees will see the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5480 controller in action, showing real-time flow monitoring and instant process adjustments.

“We are committed to empowering the water industry with technologies that streamline operations and drive efficiency,” said Brian Holte, vice president, global industry, Rockwell Automation. “By embedding machine learning directly into our control systems, protecting them with multi-layered OT cybersecurity, and linking them with power and motor intelligence, we enable utilities to reduce energy and chemical use without sacrificing quality or reliability.”

Rockwell will also spotlight its integrated control architecture, which provides real-time insights into process, power, and motor data within one unified platform. This system accelerates project deployment, reduces costs, and delivers predictive intelligence for smarter, safer water treatment decisions.

Additionally, Rockwell will unveil its desalination process control solution standard, featuring pre-built libraries for seawater and brine reverse osmosis. These libraries, built on the PlantPAx platform, simplify programming, reduce project risk, and support predictive modeling and security across utility operations.

On Oct. 1 from 9–10:30 a.m. CST, Rockwell will host a Technology Spotlight session: Instrumentation and Intelligent Water Solutions: Advancing Water Treatment with AI-Augmented Control for Enhanced Water Quality and Sustainability. The presentation will demonstrate how AI models combined with real-time sensor data can optimize energy and chemical usage while safeguarding water quality.
